UNDERSTAND THE LIMITS

Accuracy &
safe use.

Last updated 11 October 2026

Ghostlane and CrowdFlux are AI-assisted observation tools. Their outputs can be inaccurate, incomplete or delayed. Check results independently before relying on them.

AI results are estimates

Detections, categories, track matches, counts and speed estimates can be wrong. Objects or people may be missed or counted more than once. Low light, flashing lights, occlusion, distance, similar appearances and camera movement affect results. Interruptions, device temperature and processing limits can delay or stop analysis. An apparently stable number is not proof of accuracy.

Confidence is not counting accuracy

The detection-confidence setting filters model outputs. A 75% threshold does not mean 75% counting accuracy or a 75% chance that a session total is correct. Raising the threshold can miss more detections. No setting guarantees a correct result.

Ghostlane: traffic observation

Speeds depend on calibration, measured dimensions, camera stability and visibility. Ghostlane is not a certified speed-measurement instrument, enforcement tool or safety system. Do not use its results for traffic enforcement, collision avoidance or other safety-critical decisions.

Set up from a safe stationary position. Do not operate the app while driving, and follow road and site-access rules.

CrowdFlux: the camera view, not venue occupancy

Visible now describes people detected in the camera view. Total counted records accumulated tracks, not verified unique visitors. People outside the view or hidden behind others are not accounted for. Returning people can be counted again; different people can be incorrectly matched.

Counts and threshold alerts do not certify that a venue is safe or within its legal capacity. No alert does not mean the venue is safe. Do not rely on CrowdFlux for capacity, admission or emergency decisions; use independent staff checks and appropriate occupancy and safety procedures.

Recordings, reports and locations

Saved reports, CSV exports and annotated videos contain the same estimated outputs. They do not become verified measurements or certified evidence when saved or shared. Preserve this context when sharing results. Map pins and addresses can also be inaccurate.

Follow recording, privacy and surveillance rules wherever you use the apps. Obtain any required permissions, consent and notices. Footage can show identifiable people, and exported files may disclose filming locations. Capture and share information only when appropriate and permitted.
